Within the framework of the effective role of civil society organizations in confronting poverty and promoting human dignity, the Misr El Kheir Foundation allocated the second session of the “Misr El Kheir Award for Pioneering Charitable Giving and Sustainable Development” to the first goal of the sustainable development goals, emphasizing the importance of civil work in combating poverty. The session witnessed wide participation from civil society organizations in various governorates with projects that focused on supporting at-risk families, empowering women, and rehabilitating youth and people with special abilities.

In continuation of Misr El Kheir’s efforts to support knowledge and sustainable development, a policy paper was issued on the role of civil society organizations in achieving the first goal - eradicating poverty, which addressed the current situation of the phenomenon of poverty in Egypt, the state’s strategy, and the role of civil organizations in confronting it and achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030. This paper came based on the recommendations of the third round table organized by the Arab Center for Sustaining Civil Action, affiliated with the Misr El Kheir Foundation, within the framework of Its efforts to enhance community dialogue on the role of civil society organizations in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and a number of local and international partners.
