Poverty eradication and its relationship to sustainable development.

Poverty is not just a lack of income, resources, and ensuring a permanent source of livelihood, but it also includes hunger, malnutrition, and difficulty in obtaining education. Good health, social discrimination, and lack of opportunities to participate in societal decisions. Today, more than 780 million people around the world live below the poverty line, 11% of whom are in extreme poverty, which is as defined by the United Nations: “Individuals who live on less than 1.25 US dollars per day.” This number shows the amount of difficulties and suffering that these people face in life. . The United Nations has placed the goal of “eradicating poverty” at the top of its goals to achieve sustainable development by 2030 AD, through efforts targeting the most vulnerable groups, supporting local communities affected by conflicts and disasters, and assisting countries in achieving development, especially since what distinguishes this agreement is the approval All 193 member states of the United Nations have agreed to its provisions, in addition to hundreds of thousands of partners in all fields, which heralds a major positive step in curbing poverty at the local and global levels. Within the framework of the Egyptian state’s keenness to keep pace with sustainable development plans and its interest in eliminating poverty. It has implemented many major projects, such as: “Solidarity and Dignity,” which serves approximately 4 million low-income Egyptian families, and also increased the support rate. And the “Decent Life” initiative. In addition to the fact that national projects have provided 5 million job opportunities, increased wages, and other important projects aimed at improving the individual’s standard of living and eliminating poverty. All of this contributed to reducing poverty rates, as they fell to 29.7% in 2019/2020 AD. This is the first time that poverty rates have decreased in Egypt in more than twenty years, which heralds that the 2030 sustainable development plans are on the right path in Egypt.
