Sustainability standard for green NGOs
Description and details of the specification
It is a standard specification for accrediting green NGOs, as well as helping NGOs promote and adopt green practices. The standards of the specification include adopting and strengthening institutional governance, applications of sustainable development, and climate action at the level of the organization’s internal and external environment. This specification comes as the first local specification. To support green practices among NGOs
In general, the basis for evaluating an organization's performance can be imagined in light of the extent of its influence and social responsibilities, in addition to other matters such as its competitive advantage, reputation, ability to attract and retain members or users, maintaining employee morale and commitment, and its destination. The view of beneficiaries, donors, sponsors and the financial community, as well as its relationship with the private sector, government, media, suppliers, peers and the community in which it operates.< /span>
And since one of the requirements of a green organization is to have effective policies that enhance the governance of the organization, so that all its activities are managed in accordance with controls, standards and procedures that achieve the highest level of administrative and environmental discipline, therefore these international standard standards for ensuring quality and accreditation for civil society organizations Green provides guidance on understanding and implementing the mechanisms of the basic principles of an organization's social and environmental responsibility, recognizing this responsibility and engaging stakeholders, and demonstrating ways to integrate responsible behavior into Organization
Note: This standard is under construction and has been approved by many international, regional and local bodies .< /span>
Conditions
NGOs must meet the following conditions to obtain accreditation:
2- The organization must pass the institutional evaluation stage and its classification be (A) or (b) According to the institutional evaluation criteria of the Misr El Kheir Foundation
3- The organization must have a certificate of institutional commitment for civil society organizations
Standard ٍSystem
The standard system for obtaining accreditation for green NGOs depends on several evaluation areas: span>
The first area: Sustainability of corporate governance
The second area: Sustainability of knowledge development management
The third area: Sustainability of community resource development
The fourth area: Sustainability of administrative systems and policies
The fifth area: Availability of a development strategy
Sixth area: Focus on development priorities for society
The seventh field: achieving development impact and effectiveness
Eighth field: supporting equality and non-discrimination
Ninth area: Strengthening partnership and participation for sustainable development and climate action
Domain Ten: Supporting climate action governance mechanisms within society
The eleventh field: Supporting the digital transformation of society and contributing to building a knowledge society
The twelfth domain: Caring for groups least able to adapt to climate change
Thirteenth area: Supporting the societal trend towards going green
Fourteenth area: Supporting community policies to rationalize the use of natural resources
Domain Fifteen: Working to preserve biological diversity
Accreditation Request
The organization shall attach an application to obtain accreditation as a green NGO (PDF file), provided that the application includes the following:
• Direct the request to: Gentlemen, NGO Development Sector, Misr El Kheir Foundation
• Order Date: The order includes a date on it
• Basic organization data: Organization name - Announcement number and date - Title
• Content of the application: The organization’s desire to obtain accreditation as a green NGO within the specification (Standard System for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for Green NGOs – Course No......)
• Organizational seal: The application shall be stamped with the association’s seal and signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors
• Attachments: The organization attaches an identification data form and this is indicated in the application (identification data form attached)
