On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, Misr El Kheir launches the Volunteer Work Charter for Sustainable Development

Tuesday 12-20-2022 Within the framework of the International Volunteer Day activities, the Misr Al Kheir Foundation organized a round table today, Tuesday, December 20, under the title “The Egyptian Volunteer Movement: Reality and Opportunities for Growth,” in which 30 experts and representatives of local and international bodies sponsoring volunteering participated. During the meeting activities, Misr Al-Khair’s experience in volunteering was reviewed, as well as the current situation of volunteering and supporting initiatives in Egypt, while presenting the contributions of volunteerism and youth initiatives in achieving sustainable development. The table discussed several topics, as follows: * The first axis: The Egyptian volunteer movement (challenges/growth opportunities). * The second axis: The current contribution of the volunteer movement and initiatives to achieving the sustainable development agenda and national projects. The future of the partnership between the private sector and both the government and private sectors was also discussed in order to support the volunteer movement and youth initiatives in Egypt while supporting development efforts. Mohamed Mamdouh, head of the Foundation’s NGO Development Sector, announced the launch of the Egyptian Volunteer Work Charter for Sustainable Development. Mamdouh stressed that this charter comes within the framework of the activities taking place in Egypt to celebrate International Volunteer Day. The following participated in the meeting: D.
