Egypt Al -Khair launches a "sustainable climate" campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of climate change and how to alleviate and adapt to these risks

Yasser Badry Tuesday 10-5-2022 The Program of Development of NGOs at the Misr Al -Khair Foundation inaugurated a campaign to educate workers in local and Arab work of the risks of climate changes, and their role in facing these changes under the title of the "Sustainable Climate" campaign. This comes in light of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi's declaration in 2022 years of civil society in appreciation of the great role played by civil society in achieving the goals of sustainable development 2030 and in preparation for Egypt to receive the conference of states parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in late this year. Mohamed Abdel Rahman, CEO of the Misr Al -Khair Foundation, said that this campaign comes from the belief of the Egypt Foundation that the private sector is one of the sides of the Triangle of the development process in partnership with the government sector and the private sector. Abdel Rahman explained that the campaign is a regional development campaign on awareness of the issue of climate changes and the role of workers in the civil work in reducing these changes, noting that it was launched by the 2030 Development platform of the program of developing civil societies at the Misr Al -Khair Foundation, and that campaign comes as a syndrome with the interest of the Egyptian state and the civil organizations concerned with environmental issues by preparing for the international conference "COP 27" Conference of the Parties concerned Climate changes to be held in November 2022. For his part, Mohamed Mamdouh, head of the civil societies sector at the Misr Al -Khair Foundation, said that the "sustainable climate" campaign will bear the slogan "Effective civil organizations in climate issues" through the implementation of several activities with civil organizations and civil work workers represented in: The first and private activity by launching the Egypt Good Prize for the Leadership of Charitable and Sustainable Development - Fourth session, The second activity: the organization of a number of round tables for experts and representatives of civil organizations on the role of civil action organizations in achieving the thirteenth goal of sustainable development goals 2030, which is concerned with climate work. The third activity of organizing sessions of the corridor of Egypt Vision 2030, which aims to raise awareness of the dangers of climate change and how to mitigate and adapt these risks to them. The fourth activity is to raise awareness of the climate issue for representatives of 5,000 civil organizations in how to face climate changes, and the fifth activity focuses on monitoring the practices of civil action organizations in the field of facing climate changes at the level of the Egyptian country. Mamdouh added that the campaign will start from May and will continue until the end of the year 2022, until the conference of the states parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), which is scheduled to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in late this year.
