Yasser Badry 12-3-2021 Nasser Social Bank established the first open charitable investment fund under the name “Ataa,” which operates in accordance with the provisions of the Capital Market Law and aims to invest funds to direct their returns to care and support institutions for people with disabilities. The establishment of the fund comes within the framework of President Sisi’s announcement to designate 2018 as the year for people with special needs and disabilities in Egypt, and in light of the state’s efforts to empower and integrate people with disabilities during the recent period. The proceeds of the Fund are directed to development work with the aim of financing bodies, entities and associations that provide services to persons with disabilities at the levels of health and social services and providing support to universities, schools or other educational institutions licensed to carry out scientific research that serves persons with disabilities in all fields and providing scholarships, assistance and support to students and scholars with disabilities. Contributing to financing the construction or operation of homes for the residence or care of people with disabilities, in addition to financing medical convoys to villages where there is no health care for people with disabilities. The fund was launched with an amount of (125) million pounds, as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced the allocation of an amount of 80 million pounds from the “Long Live Egypt” Fund for the benefit of people with disabilities, in addition to supporting the Ministry of Endowments with an amount of 20 million pounds, the Suez Canal Bank with 5 million pounds, and Nasser Bank contributing with an amount of 20 million pounds. Subscription was opened to all investors with the aim of reaching 250 million pounds initially before increasing the fund’s capital to reach one billion pounds. Azimuth Egypt Company has been contracted to manage funds and securities portfolios as the fund’s investment manager, in addition to contracting with the Bank of Egypt, the National Bank, and the Suez Canal Bank as the recipient of the subscription, purchase, and redemption of the fund’s documents.
