Civil organizations and the shift towards green practices
Introduction to the Training Program
The idea of a green society includes community institutions and individuals disseminating the idea of respect for the environment in daily practices, that is, shifting towards green behaviors and practices at the level of individuals, local groups and organizations, including practices that lead to reducing the emission of greenhouse gases and thus bringing the community to a sustainable green recovery. From this standpoint, the importance of this regional training program, which aims to help civil society organizations shift towards green practices and ensure their participation in promoting this trend within society, is that one of the requirements for green recovery of society and achieving sustainable development depends on the presence of strong sustainable organizations, and sustainability means the best sustainable performance that can be achieved. The organization, with its ability to predict future institutional challenges and deal with them to ensure better performance in the future, aims to qualify and prepare a specialist to support the transformation of the NGO’s systems and ensure its green practice within the community.

Workers in Arab NGOs in the field of institutional development.

Program Objectives
The main objectives of the program:
Qualifying and preparing local cadres to provide support to civil society organizations in transitioning to sustainable green practices
Sub-objectives of the program:
By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:
1- Explaining the dimensions of sustainable development and the role of civil society organizations
2- Definition of green NGOs
3- Explain the importance of NGOs transforming into green organizations
4- Describe what an organization is and identify its basic elements. • Explain the distinctive characteristics of a non-governmental organization as a specific form of social organization
5- Understanding the relationship between the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and its institutional capabilities
6- Describe the system’s approach to analyzing the institutional capabilities of civil society organizations and its components
7- Controlling institutional practices to transform NGOs into green organizations
8- Controlling community practices to transform civil society organizations into green organizations
9- Explaining the stages of growth of civil society organizations
10- Knowledge of the entrances, strategies and stages of institutional development for green NGOs
11- Description of the comprehensive quality process, its objectives, and requirements for implementing quality within green NGOs
12- Determine the stages of continuous improvement for green NGOs
13- Familiarity with the Code of Professional Conduct for Egyptian Associations and Institutions and the Climate Action Charter and how to apply them within green NGOs.
14- Explaining the concept of leadership, its types and sources of influence
15- Identify methods of managing organizational change, the concept of resistance to change, its causes, and methods of resisting organizational change.
Training units
•The first unit: An introduction to sustainable development and green recovery for communities
•The second unit: An introduction to civil society organizations and their role in achieving sustainable development and green recovery.
•Unit Three: Analysis of the institutional capabilities of civil society organizations.
•The fourth unit: Modern trends in building institutional development and controlling the community practices of civil society organizations
•Unit Five: The role of NGO governance in transforming into green organizations.
•Unit Six: A standard system for ensuring and accrediting green NGOs
•Unit Seven: Change Management.
At the end of the training program, each participant submits a graduation project highlighting the applications and skills he acquired during the training, which is one of the requirements for obtaining a training license.
Certificate
To obtain a graduation certificate from the program, you must:
1. Commitment to attending no less than 75% of the actual training days.
2. Commitment to the program’s assignments and application papers.
3. Commitment to completing the final graduation project.
The program’s license certificate is accredited by the Misr El Kheir Foundation and several specialized international and local organizations.
