Regional Development Campaigns
Unit Description
The Sustainable Development and Climate Action Support Units play a crucial role in launching regional awareness campaigns targeting sustainable development 2030, which include issues of regional common interest among civil society organizations. By strengthening joint work between civil society organizations at the regional level, these campaigns are able to open bridges of cooperation and enhance the ability of civil society organizations to implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
A vivid example of this is the launch of a regional campaign entitled “Sustainable Climate” in 2022, which aims to raise community awareness of climate change and ways to cope. This campaign worked to raise awareness among civil society organizations about their role in confronting climate change issues and to invite and promote solidarity among civil society organizations for the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 27), which was held in November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, which is an important conference that attracts international attention and international organizations. Campaigns are considered one of the effective tools to involve communities in global efforts to achieve sustainable development.
