This concept can be applied to a wide range. Of organizations varying in size, goals and beliefs.

Rashid also explained that social entrepreneurship is about identifying social problems and achieving social change by employing entrepreneurship principles and processes.
In the same context, Rashid pointed out that the concept of “social entrepreneur” expresses that person who organizes businesses, manages projects, and uses new applications that have the ability to solve societal problems. He is also always willing to take risks and make efforts to bring about positive changes in society. Society.
In this regard, the difference between for-profit entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship, which focuses primarily on creating social capital without measuring performance in terms of profit or return in monetary terms, must be emphasized.

The characteristics of a social entrepreneur were also highlighted, including a sense of commitment to social responsibility; They devote their day to adopting social projects to serve humanity in a more advanced way. The "entrepreneur" has a special innate ability to sense opportunity and act on it, combining thinking outside the box with a unique ability to make it happen.

Some examples of social entrepreneurship were also mentioned, such as:

  • Financing institutions that serve micro-enterprises are among the most important examples of social entrepreneurship, as these institutions provide loans to unemployed or low-income individuals who cannot access the financial services provided by banks and major financial institutions.
  • Introducing fresh water services through building new wells is another example of social entrepreneurship, where the goal of the social entrepreneur is to provide access to communities that lack their own fixed facilities.
  • In this context, it is worth noting that in the modern era social entrepreneurship is often combined with technology; For example: Providing high-speed Internet connectivity to remote communities, so that school-age children have access to more information and knowledge resources, is an example of social entrepreneurship.
  • Developing mobile applications that meet the needs of a specific community is another way to express social entrepreneurship.

More than ninety participants participated in the session, in addition to many followers of the session via the live broadcast that took place on the page of the NGO Capacity Building Unit affiliated with the Misr El Kheir Foundation.
