The International Volunteering Report issued by the United Nations Volunteer Program in 2022 indicates the state of volunteering In the world, the monthly number of volunteers around the world reached 862,378,600 volunteers, ages 15 and above. According to the report, the monthly number of volunteers in our Arab countries It has reached 26,201,390 volunteers. This volume of Arab volunteers can become an added social and economic value for sustainable development and climate action in the Arab region if it is properly employed and invested.

However, the report points out many challenges facing the growth and investment of volunteer movements in the Arab region. These include the lack of opportunities available to qualify volunteers, the absence of mechanisms to monitor and develop their practices, the lack of opportunities to support their community initiatives... etc., in addition to the weak role of volunteers within Arab NGOs and the ability of NGOs to attract volunteers and invest their efforts in the development of local communities.

Hence comes the importance of the Arab Club, which It seeks to build an interactive platform among Arab volunteers that facilitates the exchange of experiences among them and supports the trend of civil society organizations to integrate the concepts of sustainable development and climate action into volunteer work and spread the culture of green volunteering, in addition to working to confront the challenges facing volunteer work, most notably qualifying volunteers and developing their practice.
