The project addresses society’s lack of awareness of the blind child’s abilities, given that blind people always depend on others for their personal affairs or for moving between places due to their lack of training. - To become self-reliant and leave the blind child without enrolling him in formal education. The blind person who has missed the age of formal education does not know that he can complete his education by eradicating illiteracy. The project seeks to integrate the blind into society, enroll them in formal education, and also eradicate their illiteracy in cooperation with the Literacy and Adult Education Authority, help them read and write in Braille, and improve the individual’s ability to rely on himself and write what he owns without the need to Aid From anyone. The project will organize literacy courses and special training courses to develop technology skills using talking computers for the blindThe association has a boarding house as a shelter institution affiliated with it, and it has 30 blind children residing. They come weekly from different and distant places to enroll them every morning in the government school for the blind (formal education). The project is based on (Developing the skills of these children) and the children of the blind school in Minya in general, while holding specialized courses for teachers, and we do the following.
- A club for developing skills for internal children to learn life skills that help them rely on themselves, such as self-care and also walking with a white cane, with a focus on mastering writing on Braille typewriters by purchasing 6 Braille typewriters and conducting training sessions from By specialized teachers.
- Conduct an entertaining and educational trip for all 60 children in the school, such as visiting other schools for the blind and entertainment places.
- A complex skills development club that includes 60 blind children and 30 supervisors
The direct target group of the project< /span>
- 90 blind children are taught the typewriter. We are raising a generation that is proficient in using the typewriter and this will benefit them most in the long run in their studies at university.
- Teaching children the white cane and how to use it, which will create, in the long run, community awareness about the blind person and visual impairment in general (before White Cane Day).
- 3- The blind learns independence, self-reliance, and gains self-confidence to move and navigate on his own and without an accompaniment when taught to walk with a white cane
