To announce the launch of a series of round tables on the role of civil society organizations in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals within the activities of the third session of the “Misr Al Khair Award for Pioneering Charitable Giving and Sustainable Development”
Yesterday, the activities of the first round table concluded among a number of round tables planned to be organized during the coming period during the activities of the Misr Al Khair Award. The first table was titled:
“The role of civil society organizations in achieving the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, concerned with “good health and well-being,” under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and many local and international bodies.
The round table was organized in the presence of representatives of stakeholders concerned with the third goal of “good health and well-being” from the government sector, the private and civil society sectors, and international organizations, in addition to experts in the field of health and sustainable development.
The meeting aimed to open the door to discussion and dialogue between representatives of the concerned parties in light of three axes:
- The first axis: the place of health in the sustainable development agenda and Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the current role of civil society organizations in achieving it.
- The second axis: National projects and initiatives in the field of health and the role of civil society organizations in light of the challenges facing this vital sector.
- The third axis: The future of partnership between civil society organizations, the government and private sectors, and international organizations in the field of health development
At the end of the dialogue and discussion, a number of important recommendations were agreed upon regarding proposals for working to increase the contributions of civil society organizations in achieving this important goal, provided that a policy paper will be formulated as soon as possible to be published and sent to the relevant authorities
During the meeting, it was announced the launch of a series of round tables on the role of civil society organizations in various sustainable development issues.
A number of (35) experts and representatives of various parties participated in the meeting, including the following:

- Dr. Ahmed Saada - Assistant to Her Excellency the Minister of Solidarity for Health and Volunteer Affairs.
- Dr. Talaat Abdel Qawi - President of the General Union of Associations - Member of the House of Representatives.
- Dr. Abla Al-Alfi - Member of the House of Representatives and Member of the Health Committee.

- Dr. Noha Abdel Qawi - Member of the National Council for Human Rights and Member of the Senate.
- M. Hoda Dahrouj - Ministry of Communications.
- Aya Abu Hadid, representative of the United Nations Development Program
- Dr. Mervat Naseem - World Health Organization
-Dr. Magda Imam - Head of the Center for Social Studies
Dr. Mohammed Al-Naghi - Member of the Board of Directors of the Harvard University Alumni Association and expert in sustainable development.
